The Department of Philosophy at CUHK is the biggest philosophy program in Hong Kong. It is pluralistic, with equal strengths in analytic, Chinese and continental philosophy. It has been consistently ranked as one of the best Philosophy Departments in Asia and among Top-50 Philosophy Departments worldwide. The Department now invites applications for a substantiable-track assistant professorship or associate professorship with substantiation. AOS: Chinese philosophy. AOC: Open.

Applicants should have a PhD in philosophy by the time of employment. Duties include (a) pursuing academic research and publications; (b) applying for external research grants; (c) teaching four courses a year over two semesters in philosophy (undergraduate and graduate) and general education; (d) supervising and examining postgraduate students; and (e) assisting in administrative work in the Department, College, Faculty, and University.

Complete dossier should include (a) a cover letter, indicating the rank you are applying for; (b) a CV, with a complete list of publications (attach the acceptance letter for an accepted but unpublished paper); (c) a research statement; (d) a teaching statement; (e) two representative papers, published or unpublished; (f) previous teaching evaluations if any; and (g) substantiable-track assistant professor applications should provide three confidential reference letters; (h) applications for associate professor should include three names of references.
