The Department of Philosophy at CUHK is the biggest philosophy program in Hong Kong. It is pluralistic, with equal strengths in analytic, Chinese, and Continental philosophy. The Department now invites applications for a non-tenure track position as Research Assistant Professor in Continental and Comparative philosophy. Candidates are expected to have expertise in the philosophical theories of Kant, Humboldt, Husserl, and Heidegger as well as in the philosophical dimensions of the Chinese language and script.
Applicants should have a PhD in philosophy by the time of employment. Duties include, among others, (a) pursuing academic research and publications; (b) applying for external research grants; and (c) teaching philosophy or general education courses.
Complete dossier should include (a) a cover letter; (b) a CV, with a complete list of publications; (c) a research statement; (d) a teaching statement; (e) up to three representative papers, published or unpublished; (f) previous teaching evaluations if any; and (g) three confidential reference letters.
