Admission Requirement

Local Students
Applicants shall meet the minimum University requirements for application.
 
Applicants who have obtained good grade in HKCEE Chinese Lanuage and English Language are more favourable.
Overseas Students
1. Applicants shall be eligible to apply if they:
  1. possess a qualification obtained outside Hong Kong which qualifies them for university admission in the country/region where such qualification is obtained (e.g. SAT in USA , UEC / STPM in Malaysia , HSC / TER in Australia , OSSD in Canada ); OR
  2. have acquired an International Baccalaureate Diploma; OR
  3. have obtained in one sitting of the GCE Advanced Level Examination pass grades in no less than three (Advanced Level) subjects (Applicants with pass grades in 2 Advanced Level and 2 Advanced Supplementary Level subjects may also apply); OR
  4. have successfully completed:
   
at least one year of (full-time) undergraduate study at a recognized university; OR
a course of study leading to the qualification of associate degree / higher diploma; OR
  5. have other exceptional achievements which merit admission.
     
2. Language requirements :
  1. English: Applicants should have attained an acceptable level of proficiency in English.
  2.
Chinese: Since Chinese is a major language of instruction of the Department, applicants are required to show evidence of proficiency in Chinese in order to be positively considered. Examples of such evidence include graduation from a Chinese secondary school, GCE A-Level Chinese, HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) results or other equivalent qualifications.
